Let’s get sweaty!

Updated: Jul 2, 2020

These days much is said about the importance of strengthening our immune system from outside - in by consuming tons of vitamin C, Zinc, PQQ and other supplements. These are very important suggestions, yet what about strengthening ourselves from inside - out?

Over the years, our immunity to fight infections is greatly diminished due to lifelong unhealthy habits (dietary, physical and mental) which cause a buildup of toxins in our bodies. These pollutants, are responsible for many issues such as low energy, dysfunctional organs, backup within our lymphatic system, damaged DNA, and thus, a compromised resistance to health issues.

What can be very helpful in elimination of poisons within is using our largest organ, our skin, as elimination agent. Yes, I mean to eradicate these toxins out of our bodies by sweating. While fully respecting social distancing, go for an early morning brisk walk or a jog. If you can’t be outside, practice yoga, indoor rowing, use elliptical or do body-weight training.

Please keep in mind the law of gradual progress. Start where you are, and slowly build your strength and endurance. Strive to about 30 minutes of sustained dripping, staying within your aerobic range (watch your heart rate not to pass the anaerobic threshold).

Additional benefit of perspiring is generation of feel-good hormones such as serotonin, endorphins, and dopamine. These guys play a very vital role in keeping our spirits up, and further contribute to our strength to fight infections and win.
