Taking Back Control of Our Immunity Using Aerobic Fitness.

While we are waiting (G-d knows for how much longer) until meds and vaccines to combat Covid become available, please don’t overlook our ability to elevate our resistance to get infected by routinely practicing aerobically driven workouts.


Brisk walking, running, swimming, biking, rowing, dancing workout and such, strengthen all cells that our lungs and heart are made out of. Let’s not forget the benefits of sweating. It facilitates elimination of toxins and the release of ‘feel good’ hormones which stop anxiety, relax our minds and elevate our moods.


So, what should I do? My advice is pick an activity which you liked doing when you were a teenager. I can’t say enough about the principal of gradual progress. Start at your current level of aerobic fitness, and very slowly build your endurance to level where you can sustain a continuous state of sweating for a minimum of 30 minutes, three to five times a week.


While respecting others, choose to exercise outdoors. There is no better feeling being fueled by fresh air, surrounded by the amazing presence and influence of mother nature.


I’m not MD yet it is my opinion (based on many years of leaning on running and indoor rowing to improve my own as well as my clients’ overall wellness) that aerobically fit individuals are significantly more resistant to contract corona related infections.


Let’s not be sitting ducks waiting to a cure. It’s time to stop listening to the news, lace up, and take back control of our health.
